A full solar eclipse is coming to the United States on Monday, August 21, 2017. Though it will only be a PARTIAL eclipse for Long Island. We won’t be seeing the full obscuration the way that some other parts of the country will, more than 70 percent of the sun will be obscured by the moon next week.

You might want to take your lunch break a bit late to check it out, as it will peak at 2:47 p.m. By 4:02 p.m., the eclipse will be complete. You should always use safety viewing glasses watching the solar eclipse.
