A recent article written by Aarian Marshall for wired.com features a new study that indicates that nearly every driver uses their phone while behind the wheel, mostly all of the time. This was determined by driving analytics company, Zendrive using sensor data from more than 3 million drivers and 5.6 billion miles of trips. They found that drivers are using their phones on 88 percent of their journeys. The average driver spends 3.5 minutes on the phone per one hour trip, a stat that sounds worse when you realize just a two-second distraction increases your risk of being in a crash by 20 percent.
